Indianapolis & Central Indiana
Not every wedding needs a full dance band. If you're looking for warm, authentic live music that sets the perfect mood — without the big band price tag or the DJ setup — we might be exactly what you're looking for.
Check AvailabilityWho We Are
We're Todd and Leah Severson, a husband-and-wife acoustic duo based in Carmel, Indiana. We've been making music together for years, and there's something fitting about a married couple playing your wedding — we understand what the day means, and we treat every performance with the care it deserves.
We specialize in the kind of intimate, feel-good live music that makes a smaller wedding feel complete. Not like something is missing because you didn't hire a ten-piece band — but like something is exactly right because you chose music that actually fits your day.
We play the songs people love. Classic, timeless, and always chosen to match the mood of the moment.
Why Us
There's a growing number of couples who know exactly what they want: a beautiful, meaningful celebration that doesn't feel like a nightclub. Smaller guest lists. Intimate venues. A reception where people can actually talk to each other, where the music enhances the evening rather than dominating it.
That's where we shine.
A full dance band is a wonderful thing — but it's designed for a specific kind of wedding. If your vision is more relaxed, more personal, and more focused on connection than choreography, an acoustic duo is the better choice. We bring warmth and professionalism without the volume, the staging, or the cost of a larger act.
We're not a backup plan. We're the right plan for the right couple.
Where We Play
Most people think of a band for the reception — but live music can elevate more than just dinner. Here's where we typically perform:
The cocktail hour is one of the most underrated moments of a wedding. Guests are mingling, drinks are flowing, and the couple is taking photos. Live acoustic music during this window creates an atmosphere that no playlist can match. We play familiar, feel-good songs at the perfect volume — present enough to set the tone, subtle enough to let conversations happen naturally.
For couples who want a relaxed, fun reception rather than a dance party, we're the ideal choice. We perform throughout dinner and the early reception, creating a warm and lively atmosphere your guests will remember. Think great food, great company, and great live music — all working together.
We bring our own professional sound equipment, which means we can perform at almost any outdoor venue — backyard weddings, garden parties, winery receptions, and private estate events. No need to coordinate with a venue on audio equipment. We handle everything.
Indianapolis and Central Indiana have a wonderful selection of wineries and breweries that double as stunning wedding venues. We've performed at these types of events and understand how to match the laid-back, relaxed atmosphere that makes them so popular.
Our Vibe
We want to be upfront about what we are and what we're not. We are not a high-energy dance band. We don't have a drummer, a horn section, or a DJ setup. If your vision is a packed dance floor and a party that goes until midnight, we're probably not your best fit — and we'd rather tell you that now.
But if your vision is something different — a relaxed, personal, deeply meaningful celebration where the music feels like part of the moment rather than the main event — then we might be exactly what you've been looking for.
Our couples tend to be people who care more about the experience than the spectacle. People who want their guests to leave saying "that was the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to." Both styles are valid. We're just firmly in the first camp.
The Music
One of the things couples appreciate most about working with us is our catalog. We play songs people actually know and love — spanning classic rock, pop, country, folk, and soul. No obscure deep cuts, no awkward silence while guests try to figure out what they're hearing. Just familiar, feel-good music that fits the mood of your day.
We also welcome song requests in advance. If there's a song that's meaningful to you as a couple, share it with us when you book and we'll do our best to include it. If we're able to learn it, we absolutely will.
Artists we cover include: The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Van Morrison, Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles, Bill Withers, John Denver, Tracy Chapman, Paul Simon, The Lumineers, Zac Brown Band, Chris Stapleton, Taylor Swift, George Michael, Lake Street Dive, Ray LaMontagne, Cyndi Lauper, and many more.
Where We Are
We're based in Carmel and perform throughout the greater Indianapolis area and Central Indiana. Whether your wedding is in downtown Indianapolis, a venue in Carmel or Fishers, a winery in the countryside, or a backyard in Westfield or Noblesville — we're familiar with this area and happy to be there.
Areas we serve include Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, Zionsville, Greenwood, and surrounding communities.
About Us
There's something we love about playing weddings. Maybe it's because we understand what the day represents — we've been married for over 30 years ourselves. Or maybe it's just that live music at a wedding feels like a privilege. Either way, we show up to every wedding with genuine care, and we put that into every song we play.
We're easy to work with, communicative, and professional from the first inquiry to the last song of the evening. When you hire us, you're working directly with the people who will be there on your wedding day — not a booking agent, not a band manager. Just Todd and Leah.
We've called the Indianapolis area home for nearly 30 years. We know these venues, these communities, and these audiences — and we're honored every time someone chooses us to be part of their day.
Got Questions?
The cost of live wedding music varies widely depending on the size of the act, how long they perform, and the time of year. A full band with multiple musicians can run several thousand dollars. As an acoustic duo, we offer a more affordable option without sacrificing the warmth and energy that live music brings to a wedding. We're happy to provide a custom quote — just reach out and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
As early as possible — ideally 3 to 6 months out. Saturdays during peak wedding season (May through October) fill up quickly. That said, don't hesitate to reach out even if your date is coming up soon. If we're available, we'll make it work.
Look for musicians who are responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with. Make sure their musical style fits the atmosphere you want to create. Ask about their experience, what equipment they bring, and whether they can accommodate song requests. Most importantly, make sure you actually like their music — listen to samples before you commit. A signed contract is also a must.
Yes — within reason. If there's a song that's meaningful to you as a couple, share it with us when you book and we'll let you know if we can add it to our set. If we're able to learn it, we absolutely will. We just ask for as much advance notice as possible so we have time to do it justice.
The biggest pro is atmosphere. Live music creates moments that a playlist simply can't — there's an energy and emotion to a live performance that people feel even if they can't quite explain why. It's personal, it's warm, and it's memorable. The con is typically cost — a full band can be expensive. That's one reason an acoustic duo like us is such a popular choice. You get all the warmth and presence of live music at a fraction of the price of a larger act.
It depends on the event, but for us three hours is the sweet spot. That's enough time to cover a cocktail hour and a full reception, with short breaks built in between sets. We'll work with you to build a schedule that fits the flow of your day.
It depends on the size of the act. A full band needs a proper stage and significant floor space. We're an acoustic duo, so we don't need much at all — roughly 8x8 feet is plenty. We can set up in corners, along walls, in garden spaces, or wherever works best for your venue.
Yes — we perform in sets with short breaks in between. During breaks we're happy to have background music playing if needed. We'll coordinate all of this with you in advance so there are no gaps or awkward silences during your event.
We do — always. We bring our own professional PA system, microphones, cables, and everything else we need. You don't need to coordinate audio equipment with your venue. We handle setup and breakdown so you can focus on enjoying your day.
It's rare, but it's a fair question. We take every commitment seriously and have never missed a performance. In the unlikely event of a true emergency, we would contact you immediately and do everything in our power to find a solution — including connecting you with trusted musicians in our network. This is also why a signed contract matters: it outlines what happens in the event of a cancellation on either side, so both parties are protected.
