Finding the right room is half of planning a great holiday party. If your company or group is looking for a holiday party venue in Hamilton County or on the north side of Indianapolis, here are places that host private events, along with the questions worth asking before you sign. And if you’d like live music for your corporate event or holiday gathering, we’ll cover how that fits in, too.
Every venue below says on its own website that it hosts private events, and we’ve played several of them ourselves. Details change, so always confirm room sizes, menus, and policies directly with the venue.
What to Look For in a Holiday Party Venue Near Carmel and Indianapolis
- Guest count. It narrows your list faster than anything else.
- The feel. A seated dinner, a casual mixer, or something active?
- Food and drink. In-house catering, outside catering, or a restaurant menu?
- Entertainment. If you’re planning live music, look for a venue that welcomes it and has a little space and power for it.

Booking Tips for a December Party in the Indianapolis Area
- Ask early. December weekends are popular, so check availability as soon as you have a guest count.
- Consider a weeknight. Thursday parties can be easier to book.
- Look at January. A “new year” party avoids the rush entirely.
- Hold a date in writing. Ask how the venue confirms a booking, and get the details on paper.
If you’re still choosing the format, our post on corporate holiday party ideas for Indianapolis companies walks through options and a planning timeline.
Questions to Ask Any Venue Before You Book
- How many guests fit for a seated dinner, and for a standing reception?
- Is the space fully private, semi-private, or shared?
- Is catering in-house only?
- Do you welcome outside entertainment, and where would musicians set up, near power?
- Are there any music or end-time rules?
Adding Live Music to a Holiday Party in Indianapolis or Carmel
An acoustic duo is a natural fit for most of the venues above, because we fill the room without taking it over. People can still talk, toast, and catch up. We need only a small corner near an outlet, bring our own sound, and mix Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, A Holly Jolly Christmas, and Let It Snow in with the familiar songs on our song list.
Once you’ve picked your venue, tell us your date and we’ll check our calendar right away.
